Matriyoshka nesting dolls are certainly getting trendy, and I’m not a huge fan usually, but I really like these.  A more streamlined approach, with a great purpose (different coins for each bank).  Really well done.  $120 at gselect.

I don’t think that our house is going to become overly fowl decorated when we get backyard chickens, but in honor of our future pets, I really like these bookends.  Simply and modern take on the traditional country animal.  $42 for one, but they look pretty easy to make without a pattern.

Unusual kid’s store Romp has a great house kit in the form of a camper/caravan that puzzles together perfectly.  Its all wood with water-based dyes, and a felt carrying case.  Might be fun to cut out yourself - though for $70 its probably worth it.
